3rd MyBiomed Symposium 2026 Brings Together Biomedical Community to Bridge Discovery, Technology and Healthcare

SUBANG JAYA, 8 September 2026 — The 3rd MyBiomed Symposium 2026 was successfully held from 7–8 September 2026 at Taylor’s University, Lakeside Campus, Subang Jaya, bringing together researchers, academicians, industry representatives, and students under the theme “Bridging Discovery, Technology and Healthcare.”
Jointly organised by the Persatuan Bioperubatan Malaysia (MyBiomed) and Taylor’s University, the two-day symposium provided a dynamic platform for the biomedical community to exchange knowledge, present emerging research findings, explore technological innovations, and strengthen collaborations across academia, healthcare, and industry.
The symposium was chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wan Amir Nizam Wan Ahmad, with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adeline Chia Yoke Yin serving as Co-Chair. Together with the organising committee, they led the coordination and delivery of a comprehensive programme designed to highlight the increasingly important interface between biomedical discovery, technological advancement, and healthcare applications.
The event attracted a total of 155 participants, comprising 33 undergraduate students, 52 postgraduate students, and 70 academicians, researchers, and industry representatives. The diverse participation reflected the symposium’s role in connecting different stages of the biomedical research and innovation ecosystem.
The symposium was officially opened by Puan Viola Micheal, Timbalan Pengarah Kanan, Cawangan Amalan dan Perkhidmatan, Bahagian Sains Kesihatan Bersekutu (BSKB), Ministry of Health, Malaysia. Her presence and opening address underscored the importance of strengthening the connection between biomedical research, professional practice, and national healthcare needs.
The programme was further enriched by a keynote address delivered by Dr. Ami Fazlin Syed Mohamad, Director of the Institute for Medical Research (IMR), Ministry of Health, Malaysia. Her keynote provided valuable insights into the role of biomedical research in supporting evidence-based healthcare, innovation, and the advancement of Malaysia’s health research agenda.
Throughout the two-day symposium, participants had the opportunity to engage in scientific presentations, discussions, knowledge exchange, and networking sessions. The event also provided an important avenue for young researchers and students to showcase their work and interact with established researchers and professionals in the field.
The organisers extend their sincere appreciation to all speakers, presenters, participants, collaborators, sponsors, organising committee members, and student volunteers whose contributions made the 3rd MyBiomed Symposium 2026 a success. Special appreciation is also extended to Taylor’s University for hosting the symposium and to all partners and supporters who contributed to creating a meaningful platform for biomedical knowledge exchange and collaboration.
The successful conclusion of the 3rd MyBiomed Symposium 2026 marks another important milestone for MyBiomed in fostering a vibrant biomedical research community in Malaysia. Through continued collaboration between academia, healthcare, industry, and emerging researchers, the symposium aims to contribute towards translating scientific discovery and technological innovation into meaningful healthcare solutions.
